Registration

If you wish to use our services, you will need a SWITCH edu-ID account for registering with SLSP. In order to register, you will need to be at least 16 years of age. Registration is free. A library card is required to borrow media.

1. Creating a SWITCH edu-ID account

In order to register with SLSP, you first need a SWITCH edu-ID account. The personal SWITCH edu-ID ensures secure identification and serves as a login for various services in the university environment. If you do not have one yet, create one via

 SLSP registration platform

Please note that if you register with a work/study e-mail address, it is advisable to add a personal e-mail address as second e-mail in order to ensure permanent access to your account.

2. Registration at SLSP

If you already have a SWITCH edu-ID account, log in with your SWITCH edu-ID account via

 via SLSP registration platform.

Institutions can sign up for a SLSP account via registration form for institutions.

If you would like to borrow items from a library, you will need a library card.

• UZH-Members can use their UZH Card,
• Fellows of the Careum Bildungszentrum can use their student card

as library card. You may directly link your card to your Switch-EDU account upon registration, or later on.

The BibliOpass library cards can also be used at UB.

New Library Card

You can obtain an SLSP library card from all libraries , that are connected to the SLSP system or directly at one of our service desks. The library card is free of charge.

With the registration, you will receive a user account.With the account, media can be ordered through swisscovery from the UB & ZB Zurich and all other libraries connected to the SLSP network.

With the user account you can:

• view loans and orders
• renew loan periods
• view outstanding fees

If you have lost your library card, delete the card number on the SLSP library card management website. You obtain a replacement card at any SLSP library. The replacement card is free of charge. You can also enter the ID number of the new library card on the website mentioned above.
