Internships, Exchanges and Visiting Days

Internships

We offer 2-3 internships for apprentices to become an "Fachfrau/-mann Information und Dokumentation" (specialist internship).

It is possible to complete compulsory internships as part of an education (e.g. internship for the Bachelor of Science FHGR in Information Science). Unfortunately, UZH does not compensate for compulsory internships. Here you can read examples of projects completed by previous trainee:

Visits or Exchanges with Employees from Other Libraries

For employees of other libraries, we offer an insight into one or more departments (Liaison Services, Information Literacy, E-Media, Print Items, Customer Services, Communication & Social Media, Product Management) and discussions with specialists.

The visit (2-4 days) or exchange (1-3 weeks, preferably between October and June) is intended to answer your own questions or work on a small project.

Prerequisites:

  • Knowledge of German is an advantage, communication in English is possible, although internal documents are usually only available in German and meetings are held in German.
  • Verbalized goal of the visit/exchange (or project idea)
  • Own laptop

No compensation can be offered by the University Library Zurich and no accommodation can be arranged or provided. We will make every effort to organize a visit. However, there is no entitlement to a visit, as this depends on various factors.

Please send inquiries with the aim of the visit or a project idea and your CV to Sabine Klein.

Visiting Days
