Research Tips for «Documentation of historical film making»

The video library owns a significant collection of "film history documentaries," i.e., documentaries that report on all possible aspects of film history and filmmaking, either personal or factual.

Specific queries can be carried out in the Catalog.

Copy the name of the film maker(s) from the list of persons (in the catalog to the right of the search fields) into the «Personen» search field.

Note: The list of persons contains the names of all film makers for whom (at least) one documentary film is available. Any query with other names will not yield any results.

Enter the keyword «Filmhistorische Dokumentation» and the title of the film (by hand) in the search field «Schlagwörter».

From the keyword list (in the catalog to the right of the search fields), transfer the era (e.g., «Cinema Novo») and «Filmhistorische Dokumentation» to the «Schlagwörter» search field.

From the keyword list (in the catalog to the right of the search fields), copy the genre (e.g., «Western», «Animationsfilm») and «Filmhistorische Dokumentation» into the "keywords" search field.

In the "Keywords" search bar, enter the keyword «Filmgeschichte» and the country (manually).
